Letter from the 2025 Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Queen

Dear Friends and Families,

Serving as the 2025 Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Queen has been the honor of a lifetime. This year was filled with unforgettable moments, and I am deeply grateful for the incredible people who made this journey possible.

Throughout the year, I grew more confident speaking in public and more comfortable on stage. More than anything, this experience gave me a sisterhood. Through events, long days, and shared experiences, I formed friendships that will last far beyond this reign. That sisterhood has been the most special part of this year.

As my reign comes to an end, I feel both grateful and reflective—grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and memories this role gave me, and reflective as I step away from a chapter of my life that meant so much to me. I will miss the events, the community, and most of all, my court sisters who shared this journey with me.

To my Mom and Dad, Sylvia and Peter Koh: Thank you for always being there for me and supporting me every step of the way. I am incredibly lucky to have parents who are also leaders in this community that I learn from and look up to. I am grateful to carry forward our family’s legacy of community involvement.

To the Chinese Club of San Marino and the community that raised me: You have been a huge influence on my involvement with this pageant. From helping me with the smallest details behind the scenes to including me in community events and local media, I am deeply grateful.

To Queen Saerlaith Anying Dunn: Thank you for always having my back. Your guidance, honesty, and support meant so much to me, and I am truly grateful to have worked so closely with you this year.

To Queen Christina Wu: Your dedication to this pageant and the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown community does not go unnoticed, and I appreciate the commitment and effort you brought to my year in this role.

To Chairman Chester Chong: I cannot thank you enough for the support you have given the court. Thank you for hosting and planning an unforgettable trip to China—it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

To Tom Eng and Mamie Hong Weinberger: Tom, your generosity and thoughtfulness have long been part of what makes this journey special, and I am grateful for the care you show the court year after year. Mamie, thank you for the warmth and attentiveness you consistently extend to all of us.

To Ashley Thompson: Thank you for being our unwavering confidant, our guide, and our biggest advocate. Your care, energy, and kindness made every experience even more special.

To my court sisters: Thank you for the laughter, the late nights, and the countless memories we created together. I could not have imagined this year without you, and I will carry our bond and friendship with me for the rest of my life.

To the 2026 court: I am so proud of you, talented young women. Never underestimate the impact of your presence. The year moves quickly, but the moments you choose to show up for will stay with you long after. I can’t wait to see all that you bring to this next chapter.

To the Chinatown community: Thank you for welcoming me and allowing me the privilege of representing you. It has been the greatest honor to serve.

With love,

Nina Koh
