Michelle is very passionate about education and service. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Public Health, a Master's in Public Policy, a Master's in Public Health from Brown University, and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health. Her emphasis is in biostatistics, infectious disease, and global health. Her current research is centered on malaria and lung cancer treatments. Her passion for education continues as she is currently a full-time tenure-track professor of public health.

Michelle is very dedicated to her community. She serves as the current volunteer president of the library program for the nonprofit Eastvale Chinese American Association (ECAA). She works closely with youth from China that struggle integrating into American society. Because of her work efforts, she was awarded County of Riverside District 2 - Woman of the Year by the current Riverside County district supervisor.

She continues to achieve by representing the United States internationally. Michelle participated on team America in an international robotics competition held in Taiwan and secured 2nd place for America. She most recently won the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science 2025 Predoctoral Fellowship program that supported her studies on malaria at Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan. Only 16 individuals in the United States were awarded this fully-funded fellowship program.

In her free time, she enjoys reading science fiction books, traveling to new countries, and fostering dogs. Her lifelong dream is to become the director of the Centers for Disease Control and to visit over 50 countries.
