Clarice Choi 蔡優婕

Born to Mei and Sam Choi in the city of West Covina, Clarice Choi was raised in both Northern and Southern California. A 2010 alumna of San Marino High School, she graduated with awards in academics and dance. Currently, she is deferring a year from New York University to spend time with her terminally ill grandmother, and in the meantime, she is attending Pasadena City College. Her grandmother's current status is her inspiration for pursuing a career in the medical field, hence her interest in the biological sciences and devotion to her studies. During the summer of 2009, she traveled to Szechuan, China to visit the earthquake sites and its survivors to bring them food and words of encouragement. That summer, she also taught English as a second language to students at Zhongshan International School. The trip is called Project Ascent, and she was recently appointed the president of the Project Ascent Club which serves the San Gabriel Valley and areas in China and Hong Kong. Aside from these activities, she loves to delve in the performing arts such as singing and dancing, particularly contemporary and lyrical dance; the culinary arts, traveling, and teaching her dog Lucky new tricks.
