Joelle Dhing is a 21-year-old honors nursing student at Azusa Pacific University. She has worked with communities throughout Los Angeles since highschool, finding her passion for nursing while volunteering at LAC+USC’s outpatient pediatric clinic for foster children. She recently returned from studying abroad at Zhejiang University’s School of Medicine in Hangzhou, China, where she chose to work at their Second Affiliated Hospital’s surgery and emergency department. After graduation, she aspires to work in Emergency Surgery and/or the Infectious Disease Department.

As Miss Chinatown, her goal is to work with local doctors, clinics, and non-profit organizations on educating the under-served Chinese community on their health and local resources. She aims to work hands-on with the community to make a greater impact.
