Kellie Chin is a rst-year college student in East Los Angeles Community College studying biochemistry. Born and raised in Monterey Park, California, she frequently speaks both Mandarin and English. As a 1st-generation college student, she struggled through the process of transitioning into college. She wants to assist students who want to go on a similar path so that they have a mentor in the huge decision of acquiring higher education. Upon completion of college, Kellie Chin wants to continue her education in medical school to become a doctor. Because of her locality and her community-oriented personality, she loves volunteering as a secretarial booster member for the Mark Keppel High School’s Instrumental Music Program, a hospital volunteer at Monterey Park Hospital, and an LA Food Bank volunteer on her spare time. Kellie Chin joined the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown pageant because it is an amazing opportunity for her to reach out to the Chinese American community of Los Angeles.
