Jenny L. Chen

Mentor: Kristine Kwong, Legal Partner at Musick Peeler

Jenny Chen is a firm believer that education is the key to success because knowledge is the compass of life. Being the first in her family to pursue a professional degree, she is earning her Master’s in Public Policy at the University of California, Riverside. She plans to utilize her knowledge to make a positive impact in environmental policy by promoting human welfare through environmental sustainability. As a first generation Toisan-American, Jenny recognizes the multitude of obstacles other students may encounter in their pursuit for higher education. 

Her platform is promoting higher education among disadvantaged, low-income, and/or first-generation students by supporting assistance programs for disadvantaged students to enter the college system successfully. Participating in Miss Los Angeles Chinatown has connected Jenny with fellow Chinese-American leaders who share the same passion and desire to make a positive change in our community.
